Bloomingdale did a wonderful job 4 years ago on our kitchen and hardwood remodel so we had hoped to use them again on our bathroom(s) remodel. It's been about 10 weeks since they came out to measure and no quote was ready as of today. They are too busy to quote which also means too busy to do the job. I just wish he had been honest with us back in April that it would be improbable that they could take care of us in a timely manner.

Bloomingdale Construction did an excellent job on our newly constructed custom home. When we started looking for a builder in the Rochester MI area we were first impressed by the number of signs / sites they were working at. We reached out to them first and from then on, we have never even considered talking to another builder. From the start, Bob and Todd, and a architect they partner with, assisted us in developing a truly custom conceptual design and budget. Then Bob, Todd and their architect met with us on a routine basis to complete the design for our house. They listened to what we wanted in our design, and then made recommendations regarding constructability and budget. Once our design was complete, Bob helped guide us through the maize of obtaining financing for our house as well. Then as construction started for our house, John reached out to all of the neighbors, introduced himself, gave them his contact information, and told them if there were any issues, to please call him, (true customer service). Also, during construction, the job site was always clean and the work was completed in a safe, efficient, and high quality manner. Also, John's support staff of Mike and Eddie did a great job in fielding our questions (which were many) and making sure our house was progressing the way we wanted. Finally, the main reason we recommend Bloomingdale is because of John Bloomingdale. John is one of the owner's and is responsible for all of the construction work. John has established a great team of sub contractor's, who did great work, and who themselves were always on time, polite and always asked if there was anything else they could do to make us happy. Also, John himself was always approachable, answered all of our questions, kept us up to date on the status of our house, and most importantly offered common sense solutions, and extremely fair pricing on the many things we added to our house once construction started. Also, once we moved in, Bloomingdale's relationship did NOT stop. Again their sub contractors and John / staff were always approachable in answering our questions, and making any tweaks. Further, we just completed our 12 month punchlist on our house and John again was extremely fair and reasonable in addressing our concerns. In closing, our relationship with Bloomingdale has spanned over two years. During that time, they have always been there for us, offered extremely fair pricing, great customer service, and are highly competent builders who know their trade from start to finish.

I would not recommend Bloomingdale Construction, their customer service is horrible and if you are doing a renovation on your current residence they probably won't be able to help you out. They came to our residence in October of 2014 and spent about 2 hours of our time taking measurements and understanding what my Husband and I were looking to get done (master bath demo and partial kitchen renovation). They indicated that this was a job they would definitely be willing to take on and that they would contact us in 6 weeks to review their ideas and costs. December came and went with NO follow up. My husband placed a call and sent an email looking for an update. Excuses were made that they were busy and their office relocated but that they would contact us after the holidays. January came and went with NO updates. My husband sent an email to Mike this week and received a response that said they would not be able to take on our job as they were too busy with other jobs. Don't waste your time. 3/4/15 - KUDOS to owner Robert Bloomingdale who followed up with us several times after this review was written to try and make right what happended. Although, we have since found another company to work with on our project, the follow up was excellent. Thank you Robert for your timely follow up.

The staff is easy to work with, the finish product was exactly what I paid for. Bloomingdale Construction made the home building experience as streamlined as possible. After looking for a home for about 3 months we decided we could get exactly what we wanted if we built it ourselves. Bob was great in finding us the perfect location in downtown Rochester. He met with us several times to finalize the plans and we even toured some homes he had built. We did our research on this company and found their clients to be extremely happy. During the process John was always available. The neighbors commented on how polite the crew was and how clean the worksite was kept. We have been in our new home for over a year and we love it. I will think of these people as friends! If you are considering building you can't do better.
